How to Make Your Best Ideas Better

As we’re working to create a business blueprint, we’ll take our best ideas from brainstorming a business idea and develop them to make them better.

First, we’ll narrow down our ideas to just a handful that we think are the best…the ones that excite us most.

If some of them can be combined to form a single idea, do that.

Now we’ll use the PPCO tool to develop them and improve them!

    Positives
    Potentials
    Concerns
    Overcoming concerns

For each of your best ideas, make a list of what the positives, potentials and concerns are for you.

For concerns, write them starting with a sentence that begins, “In what ways might I…?” That way, you’re framing your concerns in a positive way into solvable problems. Include worries and fears.

Then, for each concern, make a list of how you could overcome that concern!

Note: I’m drawing from the Creative Problem Solving process laid out by Gregg Fraley in his book, Jack’s Notebook.

This is the ninth post in the Create a Blueprint For Your Business series.

Thanks, Jorga! I'm so glad it's helpful! You're so right about the emotional energy. And not just once! When I'm feeling
emotionally slowed down, it's usually some worry or fear I need to address! Thanks for your thoughts!
